About world’s leading carbon crediting program for engineered carbon removal. Our mission is to mobilize the economy to reward carbon net-negative emissions.
In practice this means an opportunity for organizations that can prove that they run a process that stores the carbon for at least 100 years to monetize their climate service. Our job is to create, further develop and operate the framework and operate methodology creation, certification, issuance and registering of credits based on the activity.
By buying these credits, ambitious companies like Microsoft, Swiss Re and Zurich Insurance can help reverse climate change and neutralize their residual carbon emissions. focuses solely on verified net-negative technologies that can remove carbon at an industrial scale and store it for a minimum of 1050 years. Our innovation is harmonizing different methods of CO2 removal and turning them into digital tradable assets called CO2 Removal Certificates (CORCs).
Our aim is to establish as the best ecosystem for suppliers of negative emissions and the most trustworthy partner for corporations that want to reach net-zero

The Puro Standard Advisory Board is looking for a new member!

Carbon markets require the integrity of certification via carbon standards. The Puro Standard is the first carbon removal standard for engineered carbon removal methods in the voluntary carbon market and is looking for a new member.

The Advisory Board was established as an independent entity to manage the Puro Standard in October 2021. Its mandate is to ensure high carbon credit integrity and robust principles for science-based high-quality carbon removal verification. Its members manage and curate the Puro Standard crediting rules and recommend changes to align it to the latest scientific research and policies.

The Puro Standard consists of high-quality carbon removal methodologies, aligned with the IPCC definition for carbon removal, for products or processes that remove carbon from the atmosphere.

Current methodologies are: Biochar, Carbonated Building Elements, Geologically Stored Carbon, Enhanced Rock Weathering and Woody Biomass Burial. Plus, at present, the Advisory Board is supporting a working group set to create a new methodology for Ocean-Based Carbon Dioxide Removal.

Are you the next Puro Standard Advisory Board member?

Our board is chaired by Professor Myles Allen. He is Director of the Oxford Net Zero initiative, and credited with first demonstrating, the need for ‘Net Zero’ carbon dioxide emissions to stop global warming.

The other members are a diverse group of experts with a mix of skills and experience in climate policy, science, and carbon markets. Would you like to join them?
